CARES Act

This is to inform our students of The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act which includes a Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF). Barber & Beauty Institute of New York has signed and returned to the Department of Education the Certification and Agreement and affirms that the institution has used, or intends to use, no less than 50 percent of the funds received under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act to provide Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students.

Barber & Beauty Institute of New York has received $33,055.00 from the Department for assistance in pursuant to the institution’s Certification and Agreement [for] Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students.

Barber & Beauty Institute of New York has received $33,055.00 of Emergency Financial Aid Grants to distribute to students under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act as of the date of submission.

Barber & Beauty Institute of New York is estimated to issue the CARES Act Emergency Financial Aid Grants to approximately 27 students  who are or could be eligible to participate in the Federal Student Financial Aid programs under Section 484 of the Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended, and thus are eligible to receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act.

Barber & Beauty Institute of New York has provided 12 students with the CARES Act Emergency Financial Aid Grants and 12 students who have received an Emergency Financial Aid Grant to students under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act.

Barber & Beauty Institute of New York used an  income/expense comparison spreadsheet to determine which students receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants and how much they would receive under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act. This income/expense comparison spreadsheet calculates a need base for students.
